Your pets may not be able to have chocolate, but that doesn't mean they can't have a treat of their own! These 5 pet treat ideas are super simple to make or find and your pet is sure to love them!
1. Frozen Peanut Butter & Yogurt Hearts For Dogs
You'll need:
- Plain Organic Greek Yogurt
- Natural Peanut Butter
- Heart Shaped Ice Tray (Or a Normal Ice Tray)
- A Spoon
Directions:
- Spoon a small amount of peanut butter into the base of the ice tray. You can heat up the peanut butter first to make it easier to spoon in.
- Next up, dollop spoonfuls of the yogurt to cover the peanut butter in each mold.
- Press yogurt down into the molds using the back of your spoon to make sure they're packed. This will help seal the peanut butter and yogurt together in the final treat.
- Pop the tray into the freezer for at least 4 hours
- Once frozen, remove tray and pop out individual frozen treats and let your dog enjoy!
2. Tuna Baked Hearts For Cats
Directions:
- Open the tuna and drain the water. Your cat may come running at the smell of that tasty fish!
- Mold the tuna into small hearts with your hands. You can also use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to press them out if you have one.
- Place them on a baking sheet about an inch apart. You can add a layer of tinfoil to help prevent them from sticking to the sheet.
- Put them in the oven at a low temperature until they are warm. The timing will vary depending on whether you kept the tuna at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
- Take them out when they’re done, and place one or two on a pretty plate for your cat to enjoy. Just make sure they’re not too hot when you dish them out.
